In Settings > Apps & Features highlight the game, choose Advanced Settings, try Reset. Restart PC after each step.
Update your Display driver from the PC's Support Downloads webpage. While there check for newer Chipset, Sound, Network, BIOS and other drivers.

I don't see advanced settings and which app is it Minecraft or java?

Then there is no way to Reset the game via Apps and Features.
Did you update your Drivers from the PC's Support Downloads webpage?

It won't let me update it because I already have the best version.

That sounds like the automatic Updater.
Did you actually go to the PC's Support Downloads webpage and check for any newer drivers, especially for chipset, display, sound, network or other drivers that have newer posted than what are in the Device Manager now?
If you need help then post back the PC make/model and I'll have a look for you.

so the problem is that it when i get to the start screen it just stops and show its not responding and i have tried updating every version and i have updated all drivers and windows and i have reinstalled minecraft it still wont work i have updated java and i have tried everything but it wont work for almost five months and it only works when i have optifine installed for some reason but i want to play snapshots and stuff
these are my computer specs:
16gb ram
3.8 GHz
Windows 10
64 bit
Java 8 update 161
i really have tried everything and dont know what to do i just want to play

I'm having same issue. I really want to play but i don't have the money to get new laptop. well because I'm 11 so no money of own. But my parents don't have the money either.

download and install java runtime for anything that depends on that middleware
